SE London – Burst Water Main

We have been called out to extract water from the newly refurbished music studio located in the basement of this terraced property.
Shortly after our team arrived on-site, they realised that the water is still coming into the property through the walls as they were pumping it out.
We have been advised by our client that the utility company responsible for maintenance of the mains which was located on the road outside of the property has not located the leak as of yet.
Rather than keep on returning to the property multiple times, which would result in extra charges to our client, we have decided to excavate a small hole in the floor where water was collecting.
The water kept on trickling into the studio for further two weeks as the utility company could not locate the leaking main.

Shortly after the mains have been fixed, the water stopped coming in, and we could proceed with the drying of the damp floor and walls. In this case, the drying programme has been on-going for four weeks because the ingress has completely saturated the screed and the walls.
